OPI Pirates of the Caribbean

Marsha Ambrosius-Far Away

Just because I think this is a beautiful video with a beautiful message.

How To Remove Glitter Polish

This is a really good watch, because glitter polish is a "you know what" to remove.

Keri Hilson f/ Chris Brown

I love the nail polish that Keri is sporting in this video.

Significant Other Color

HAPPY EASTER!!!! I hope everyone had a great Easter Sunday. My family just left, it now time to clean up and say "goodnight". But before I do, I want to upload my photo of my manicure with OPI "Significant Other Color". I describe it as a pearl lilac, it is very pretty. The color makes my nails look fake, but I promise you that these are my real nails I just keep them squared off instead of rounded, I like the look better.

I am wearing 2 coats, one coat will cover but it will be transparent as soon as your nails hit the light and thats fine, but I like a darker cover. I thought this was the perfect Easter color to wear, it goes great with my skin tone. I purchased it at JCPenney in the salon.

Yea, the dreaded BB camera. I promise to either used the hubby's phone or buy a camera. Lol

OPI Nail Plastic Apps

So, it looks as though OPI has joined the ropes and has created it's own plastic nail apps. From what I have read, the applications are only to last about a day or two and they are like $30 a pop! They will be in stores at the end of April and will be available for purchase at Professional Salons.  They work just like the others, but it looks as though the designs are a little better. Here is a photo of the OPI Nail Apps

More Polishes Please

Ok, so I was at JCPenney's yesterday to return a dress I thought I might like by the time Easter got here, I didn't. I decided to go into the salon and see what OPI shades they had. I found a really pretty pearl like lilac by the name of "Significant Other Color" I fell in love. I bought it. I also re-bought my all time favs "Bogata Blackberry" and "A Rose At Dawn...Broke By Noon." I cant help myself. So this brings my growing collection to about 80 some polishes. Not nearly as big a some I've seen, but getting there. I am more then likely going to be using one of these shades for Easter and I will post pics (with my bogus camera) on the blog. I am trying to get my cheap husband to buy a camera, maybe I'll go half or something. Anyways, thats all I wanted, I have to get ready to leave, got a TON of things to do in prep for Easter! Bye.

Sinful OPI

No it's not a new Sinful Colors shade or a new OPI shade, it is the combo I used for my new mani. So I have been writing about nails and someone in a group on Linked In mis-read my article and tried to call me out. Whatever. So I got that straightened out. I might just stick to blogging and Chic Galleria.

Anyways, I am not going to ramble on this post. Nothing too exciting happened for me to ramble on about. Simple post, short. Again I did use my BB camera, so the pics might not be as clear. I promise to get a new camera, I am hoping this week. Ok, on the the look.

I used, of course my China Glaze base coat, just one coat. Then I used OPI's So Many Clowns...So Little Time, just one light coat. The tips are a creme Sinful Colors Pink two coats. Then I used KISS Nail Paint in Black and Silver and used OPI's I Juggle...Men as a top coat, again just one coat. I really like them. It is kinda simular to another nail art I did. I hope you enjoy it. Thanks.

I tried to get as close as possible. Again, I am sorry about the pics.

New Mani

Ok, so I finally got the pics uploaded. Nothing too special, but still rep'n child abuse awareness. I was at the grocery store and the cashier ask why did I have the blue on my nails and I told her it was Child Abuse Awareness Month. I feel like it one person now knows then the reason for my nail art is complete. I am not going to ramble on this post.

So, the colors are a bit different, not too much. I used OPI's "Whats the Cattitude?" on my tips out lined with Kiss Nail Art White Paint. For the ribbon, I used Revlon's "Midnight Affair". I also used OPI's "I Juggle...Men". And then accented it with a jewel. Hope you like it.

I apologize about the photo quality, I used my BB camera.

Sally Hansen Salon Effects Review

Ok, I had been wanting to try those Sally Hansen Salon Effects for a while now, but just haven't psyched myself up enough to purchase them. So, I get these email from a pr company, not affiliated with Sally Hansen, pitching plastic trends to me. I got excited and after emails back and fourth, I was sent the Sally Hansen Salon Effects to review.

Now, in case you live under a rock or something and you dont know what the Sally Hansen Salon Effects are, I'll tell you.  They are nail polish strips. No chipping, long wear, fast and easy. Basically, you get the color of the polish without all the hassle and mess.

I am apologizing now, the photos are not so good, I had to use my BB camera and it sucks. Ok the review.
This is what you get inside the package.
The insturctions are simple enough. All you do is choose a size that fits your nails, peel off the tab and apply it too your clean nail. You use the file to file away access strip.
Something like this.
MY OPINION: I am glad I didnt buy them. Not for nothing, they seem to be great for an on the go situation. It would save the mess trying to paint your nails in the car(as a passenger). However, for a retail price of $9.99, they were not that impressive. I have read other reviews on the product, they were mixed, some loved them and some didnt. The plus is, you would get designs that you wouldnt be able to get in a salon. No mess. No smell( my hubby loved). No drying time.
The negative, some of the sizes didnt fit to my nails. They are easy to tear. You cant tell in the pics, but there were some creases(which may have been me). If you make a mistake applying, you will need to remove the whole thing and use another strip. Again, $9.99 for one time wear is a little steep for me. In my opinion, I rather deal with actual nail polish. I would get more usage from a bottle of nail polish that at the most may cost me $8.50.
If anyone has tried the Salon Effects and has a different opinion, I would love to hear it.  Purchasing info, you can purchase the Sally Hansen Salon Effects at Walmart, Kmart, Walgreens and CVS, also RiteAid.

Pure Ice

As you know I never keep my polish on for too long. But I love to show off the colors and designs. I did this swatch with Pure Ice New Lilac. It's a really pretty pearl lilac color. The polish is super cheap, its like $1.99 @ Walmart.  I literally put the polish on and allowed it to take me somewhere. I used OPI's I Juggle...Men as a top coat and I also used OPI's Top Coat. I dont know what happened. About day or two after this photo was taken, the Pure Ice started to crack....really bad! I mean, I didnt wash my hands no more during this mani then I do any other. It started on my thumb and it was noticeable. Bad! I was not happy. I did this one on the 30th actually. I wanted to wear something until yesterday which was the 1st of April. I will also be posting those photos as well.

Here is the photo for Pure Ice New Lilac. Two coats on the tips along with OPI's I Juggle...Men and Top Coat.

The flower is from one of the stencils that came with the Kiss Nail Art. I finally used one without breaking it. I liked it. I would have worn it longer but I wanted to do something special for today. Hope you njoy!

OPI: Touring America F/W 2011

OPI hits the open road with a new take on classic style in the Touring America Collection for Fall/Winter 2011. Inspired by Americana and cities with rich cultural heritage, the collection’s twelve shades offer comfortable glamour and wearable elegance for nails and toes.
“My recent road trip across the country sparked the creation of the Touring America Collection,” says Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, OPI Executive VP & Artistic Director.  “Autumn is a time for reinvention, and these shades revive classic, iconic colors for fall, from cool heather, khaki and chocolate to warm rose, peach and red.”
The season’s go-to shades of taupe and pearl grey appear in variations from dark to light – A-taupe the Space Needle, Get in the Expresso Lane, French Quarter for Your Thoughts, and Suzi Takes the Wheel.  Lush urban neutrals in deep sapphire (Road House Blues), rich raisin (Honk If You Love OPI), chic olive (Uh-oh Roll Down the Window), and coffee brown (I Brake for Manicures) merge with iconic red (Color to Diner For), vivid rose (My Address is “Hollywood”), and luminous coral and orange (I Eat Mainely Lobster, Are We There Yet?) for an expansive color landscape.
“This collection will take women around the world on the ultimate tour across the USA, with stops in Baltimore, Clarksdale, Hollywood, Jackson Hole, Memphis, Milwaukee, New Orleans, New York City, Philadelphia, Seattle, St. Louis, and Tucson,” explains Suzi. “Together, the locales that inspired Touring America make up a rich palette of color complementing trends from the runway, where we saw a mix of feminine details and dramatic menswear touches.”
Touring America includes the following shades:
Are We There Yet?
Don’t make me reach back there and take that perfect melon shade!
I Eat Mainly Lobster
We “clawed” through crowds to catch this coral for you.
My Address Is "Hollywood"

Red Plaid Nails

This is what I ended up doing after I removed the other red/blk/white polish. It is a plaid look. Nothing too complicated. I used all three Kiss Nail Art and only one base color which was the Nicole by OPI OMB! Base color was applied with two coats. Enjoy!

Pink Glitter

As you know cause I already posted, I received in the mail the other day, the new collection from OPI Femme de Cirque. It was sent to me by the PR agency to review. I love the shades in case you didnt know. At the risk of sounding girlie, I really like the color pink and these soft shades are def whats up. I am experimenting on nail art, or just doing different things to my nails and what I did here was add some pink glitter polish to one of the new shades from Femme de Cirque. I didnt want it to look perfect, more drizzled on. Here is what I came up with. I really like it.

The colors are Step Right Up and Teenage Dream both from OPI. Step Right Up is applied with two coats.

Jordana

I lied, I have one more color for the evening and then I am going to apply a different shade all together because I REALLY dont like this one. I bought it at Walmart, it was pretty in the bottle. It's a really inexpensive brand called Jordana, you've probably seen it in the polish isle. Before I show you the photos of this polish let's just go into way I really didnt like it. The color is supposed to be a blue/green color. Not quite a turquoise. Secondly, the brush is waaaay to small, it wouldnt grab any polish, so it looks like it is caked on my nails. I wish I say it was because it is a creme color, but I can't. It is awful. I have another shade to swatch.  So here is are the swatches of Jordana. Two coats...or so.

Yea, I dont think that I will be wearing this color anymore. It is a little darker in person, but um, either way I dont like this color. Again it is available at Walmart for like $1.99-$2.49 something like that.

China Glaze:Tronica

First of all happy Saturday everybody! I felt like it would NEVER get here. My work week was so long for some reason, Idk why.

Ok, so we were out last night and I decided to check out Sally's to see what polish's they had. I knew they had Orly Polishes and I needed some new cuticle oil. I walk in a see China Glaze's new collection Tronica. Now I have never bought China Glaze, yea I know, but I have heard great things about the brand. So I bought three shades from the collection, a base coat and some cuticle oil.

If you dont know about the new Tronica Collection, the shades are holographic. In other words they have a shimmer to them. This is the display. The shades I got were Electra Magenta, Mega Bite and Hyper Haute.  I have two coats of polish on. I think that you could get away with one coat, but I like my nails to be a bit darker.  As far as removal, I didnt find it to be too difficult, I have been using the technique I seen on youtube to remove glitter/shimmer polish. I re-posted it on here.

This is Hyper Haute. It is a pink shimmer. Really pretty and you can see that the camera picks up the color well.

Mega Bite is next. I wanna say it's a gold shimmer. Although it is pretty, I think for me, this is more of a toe color. Especially with the color sandals I have, it'll be pretty on my toes.

Last but not least is Electra Magenta. This is a purple shimmer. My fav out of the three that I have so far. I think I am gonna paint the other hand and sport this shade for the day.

Over all, just from the three shades I have, I am a fan. I love a good shimmer shade. Like I said I owned any China Glaze, I will definitely buy more from China Glaze. They are on sale @ Sally's for like, 2 for $10. But I renewed my Sally's card so I got them @ like $4.49 a piece, which isnt bad considering they are normally $6.49 or something like that. I dont know if this sale is at all Sally's but I would check it out, especially with a new collection.

Revlon

So I bought two new shades, both from the Revlon collection, their called Ocean Breeze and Midnight Affair. Midnight Affair is a really dark blue color. I really liked this one. It goes on really rich, like you dont need two coats. Ocean Breeze is from the new Scented Collection. It is a turquoise color.

You are apparently supposed to be able to smell a certain scent once the polish dries. I didnt smell anything. It smelled like nail polish to me. It also went on pretty opaque, a second coat was not needed, although I did apply one.

I purchased them at Walmart, my second home, the price was something like $3.86 a piece. Here are some photos. Also, just for fun, I applied OPI's Black Shatter on top of Ocean Breeze.

I didnt apply a top coat with the Black Shatter, I normally use like a glitter clear polish. It does dry matte, so a top coat is needed.
