After watching the show should Rafael have used his scarf?
So did you enjoy last night ep of Project Runway? Well just in case you missed it, here is a quick recap and my own review of the runway.
The season got started with a twist. Twenty designers were picked and off to New York they went, the only thing, they werent through with the auditions. After being chosen, the designers still had to face the actual judges, Heidi, Michael, Nina and my favorite Tim Gunn. After the second audition, four designers were on their way home.
The Challenge:
The first challenge for the remaing 16 was to create a look with only the clothes they wore to bed and a sheet off their bed. Some rose to the challenge, others shouldve stayed in bed.
The Runway:
The guess judge for this challenge was actress, Christine Ricci. The judges did not hold anything back at judging. As you know Heidi calls a group of names, which means your either automatically safe or your getting judge. In this case the first set of names she called were safe.
Here are my favorites:
Anya- She came in the underdog. With only four months of sewing, Tim was on the fence about her. Not sure if she would be able to keep up with the other designers who had more experience then she did. In the workroom, it looked like her lack of sewing knowledge was going to get the best of her, when she struggled a little to work the sewing machine. However, her runway look proved that she could produce a beautiful piece.
Viktor- Was another favorite of mine. His dress was simple, but made a statement. The way he had his model styled was very Victoria Beckham too me. It was not too short, not too long. The perfect day dress.
Bert- Another underdog in the comp. He is the oldest of the designers at the age of 57. The judges told him that his designs were simple, so for this challenge he wanted to do something different. The ending was a beautiful dress. Using his orange boxers, he gave, what could have easliy been a boring dress, a pop of color. He wowed the judges so that he won the challenge and earned himself ammunity for next week.
Fallene- This dress, OMG! A cute little halter dress that was fitted at the bottom. She took the puking clown from her night shirt and incorp'd it into this dress and it worked in her favor. I love this dress, I want to wear this dress and I am sooo not a dress girl.
Hated It!:
Becky, whose dress liked a little fashion design 101. The dress looked cheap and had no movement what so ever. She claimed to be edgy, there was NOTHING edgy about this dress at all!
Julie- I dont know what she was thinking, but nobody would this outfit. I thought she turned her pj's into more pj's.
Joshua-OMG, and not in a good way. His was as bad as Rafael's. This getup reminded me of little red riding hood. I agree with Nina, your in a design comp and you come with a tank and a pair of shorts. Really? And to make it even more ugly, he had a seam running down the front where the top was too small and he had to adjust for fit. He did not make that work at all. To think of the four that were sent home, that are now watching this and probably a little pissed. I would be.
Rafael-As bad as I thought these other three designs were, this one was maybe the worst. In the workroom, Tim told him to take off the scarf and incorp it into the piece, he wanted to see it. But Rafael was more worried about his hair looking a hot mess, that instead of doing what was asked so Tim could help, he ended up sending a hot mess down the runway. All white with the leopard print scarf as a necklace, aka after thought. The judges called it a bib. Too funny. His hot mess got him sent home. Maybe he shouldve tried out for Sheer Genius, if his hair was that important.
So thats what you missed last night. The good, the bad, and the down right WTH? Be sure to catch Project Runway on lifetime. You can click any of the links to be taken to the show's page as well as the link on the sidebar.
Glamour's September cover girl is none other then the music sensation herself, Rihanna. In this issue Rihanna shares her tale of tranformation and talks about her relationship with Chris Brown.
Photographed by Ellen von Unwerth, Rihanna appears on Glamour's September cover in a modern twist on a classic tux style in a D &Gtop and pants and her own jewerly.
Here she is wearing a turquoise Marc Jacobs dress, Stephen Russell crystal an pearl braclets, Christian Louboutin shoes and her own bangles.
Here she is wearing a black and teal lace Vionnet dress, Wacoal briefs, Christian Louboutin shoes and her own bangles.
Lastly, here she is wearing a Yves Saint Laurent white coat and black jumpsuit, Tom Ford clutch, Stephen Russell crystal and diamond braclet and a Gucci belt.

Here is a sneak at what Rihanna shared with Glamour:
On hating drama…and perfection: “I hate drama. But at the same time, nothing bothers me more than when life’s perfect. And that’s the sick part. I just love a challenge, whether it’s a relationship, my career, clothing...”
On her attention getting sense of style: “Getting dressed, I want to pick the most bizarre pair of shorts so I can figure out how to make it look right, or work an outfit that will make people go, “What the hell is she wearing?”
On dealing with how messy life can get: “I think honesty is the ultimate liberation in life. People want to shy away from the truth and keep sweeping it under the rug. But after a while, you pick up the rug and there’s just way too much dirt, so you might as well just be up front about it.”
On being a role model for young girls:
“I want to set the right example and, at the same time, live my life….I feel like pop stars can’t be rock stars anymore because they have to be role models, and it takes the fun out of it for us, because we just want to have fun with art.”
On liking dominant guys in the bedroom: “I play a very dominant role in my life, in every aspect of it. And I like to feel like a lady still, at some point. I feel like that’s the time when a guy really gets to be a man, and I get to be a woman. And if I’m being a man in the bedroom too, there’s nothing really in it for me.”
On her friendship with Katy Perry: “All my friends are guys, to be completely honest. But when I met her, it was such a breath of fresh air. I just couldn’t believe this chick had no edit button….Katy and Lady Gaga came out of the gate exactly the way they think, the way they wanna dress, the way they wanna speak.”
The September issue of Glamour will be available on newstands and digital nationwide on August 9th.
Check out Beyonce rocking a Nikolaki dress in her new video. In case you are not familiar with who or what the Nikolaki line is, it is the line from former Project Runway contestant, Nick Verreos.
The dress is from Nikolaki Spring 2011 Collection. Below is the dress:
Nick Verreos is from season 2.
Dont forget to set your DVR's. Heidi, Tim, Michael and Nina are back for season 9 of Project Runway. And also dont forget to check back here afterwards to get my take on the runway looks, the designers and the judges. Project Runway season 9 starts Thursday July 28th on Lifetime.
OMG!!! This is for all you Marilyn Monroe fans out there, including myself. This is a MM wedding dress. Love it!
August is right around the corner and the temp is rising! And of course that means all of summer's troubles. Tired of bug bites and frizzy hair? Well your in luck, because O The Oprah Magazine has the answers to your problems.
Check out below for a sneak peek into the in-book feature:
Minimize the Aftermath of Sunburns
Pop two aspirin, which inhibits the prostaglandin release that can increase redness.
Take a cool bath or shower. A sunburn increases blood flow to your skin; cold water reduces it.
Slather the affected areas with an aloe gel, but be careful to avoid products that contain alcohol, which can dry skin and increase peeling.
Solemnly swear to always apply sunscreen (and reapply every two hours!) when you’re in the sun.
Hide Front-and-Center Mosquito Bites
Dab a 1 percent hydrocortisone ointment on the bite as soon as you notice it to bring down the inflammation and redness. (An antihistamine, like Zyrtec, will also help reduce swelling.)
Once you’ve treated the bite, cover it as you would a pimple, using concealer and a translucent powder.
Sweat Less…Or Create that Allusion
Take a cold shower. The cool water will lower your skin temperature, actually impacting how much you sweat.
After showering, towel off and sprinkle powder over areas that tend to be particularly sweaty.
To cure slippery feet, blow dry your feet using your hair dryer’s cool setting, and then pat powder on them.
Consider using a deodorant with a higher antiperspirant power, like Secret Clinical Strength or Degree Clinical Protection. For best results, apply your antiperspirant to totally dry skin right before bed. If you need even-more-potent sweat prevention, ask you dermatologist for a prescription, like Xerac Ac or Drysol.
Conceal a Broken Out Chest
To hide any individual pimples, dab on a concentrated concealer using a fine-pointed makeup brush. Because body makeup often looks thick on the chest and back, use a face formula instead, like Kevyn Aucoin Sensual Skin Enhancer. Use a translucent powder to set the concealer. For more diffuse breakouts, apply a powder foundation (like Stila Illuminating Powder Foundation or Revlon ColorStay Aqua Mineral Makeup) all over the offending area with a large fluffy brush.
Prevent Hair from Wilting
Get to get rid of the grease that can weigh down hair at the roots. Shampoo daily, using products like Neutrogena T/Sal shampoo for oil control. Go easy on your conditioner usage, and try a product that has a gel consistency (like KMS California Add Volume Gel Conditioner) in order to keep hair smooth without flattening it.
To defy gravity all day, look for products billed as “root lifters” (like L’Oréal Paris Studio Line Pumping Volume Spritz). Spray at the roots when hair is still damp, or try flipping your head upside down while blow-drying for extra volume.
Cure a self-tanner hangover: streaky ankles, stained palms
In the shower, squeeze an exfoliating scrub (preferably one containing glycolic acid, like Dr. Brandt Microdermabrasion Body) onto a loofah and rub it in circles over the darkest areas. This will buff away that surface skin, and will soften the color.
If you don’t have an exfoliator handy, the citric acid in fresh lemon juice can help slough away excess color (cutting a lemon in half and rubbing it directly on the splotchy areas will do the trick!).
Once your skin is dry, a tinted bronzer will help even things out; you can also minimize remaining streaks by applying a subtle gradual tanner (like Lorac SelfTantalizer body Bronzing Gradual Self-Tanner) all over.
Next time, exfoliate thoroughly before applying self-tanner; when you’re done applying, gently rub a damp washcloth over your elbows, knees, ankles, and feet (the areas most likely to streak).

Ok, ready for part 2? The second half of this review is going to be on the restorative treatment pack. It includes Argan Hot Oil Treatment, Acai Thermal Protection Styler and the Coconut Milk Leave-In Conditioner. With this one, I only used the Coconut Milk Leave-In Conditioner. So this is the one I will be talking about and reviewing.
About The Product:
The Coconut Milk Leave-In Conditioner reduces frizz and defines curls. It leaves the hair with a radient shine. Leaves the hair soft with a light hold and desired movement. For this product the instructions it calls for you to wash and condition your hair, pour this product into your hands and apply it evenly throughout the hair. Then scrunch and air dry.
My Review:
As I stated earlier, I only used the Coconut Milk Leave-In Conditioner, and the reason is, my hair cant hold oil and the thermal protection styler felt really watery in the package. I have also included photos. The first thing, the product does not have that medicated smell, it has a very pleasent smell of coconut. Its not thick, but its not watery:
Sorry about the blurry photo. But this is what the product looks like. And that is the amount I used per section. Now I am wearing my hair straight but my ends still frizz kind of bad even with the flat iron. So here is how I used this product. I used it on my hair dry and straight. When I first began to use it I applied it to my hair root to end, and then eventually just to the ends. Here is what my ends looked like before I applied the product
As you can see frizz city! Even though my hair has been flat ironed, my ends still frizz.
This is a photo of my ends after I applied the product, you can see how my ends soaked up the product.
Moisture plus heat equals this. I put this photo here to show how much moisture this product has. This is what my hair does when water are anything containing water touches my hair.
This is the end results. Love it! no frizz! So, whats the big deal? Arent flat irons suppose to do just this? True, however my ends NEVER get straight. You cant tell in the photo, but my hair has an amazing shine and movement. It looks as though I have a relaxer. I am very happy with this product and I cant wait until I wear my natural to see what it does for my curls.
Overall:
I recommend this product 100%. This product reminds me of all the wonderful things I have heard about Dr. Miracle. It is true to what it says it does. I use it daily in my hair. It is the only product so far that I have find to get my ends straight and frizz free and given the heat and humidity here where I live, that says something. A+!
First of all, how sexy is this ad for the new season of Project Runway! Whoa Heidi! And to think she has three kids. You gotta love to hate her.
Any who, the constestants have been announced.
Right now, you can go to Lifetime's website and "meet" the new designers. Click on the photo.
I think I may already have my favorites. I love love love this show. Remember, these 20 designers are fighting to make it to the end. $100,000 from L'Oreal to start their fashion collection, a spread in Marie Claire, a $50,000 technology suite from HP and to be able to sell their collection on Pipelime.com. But before that they have to make it to Mercedes Benz Fashion Week. Only three will make it.
The new season of Project Runway returns to Lifetime on July 28th. Set your DVR's. I've missed Tim Gunn so....Maybe I will cover this season of Project Runway, and give my opinion on the runway looks. Mmmm.
Heidi Klum on the cover, singer Janelle Monae's interview! All in Glamour's August issue on stands now! Check out what Janelle shared with Glamour:
On what made her start wearing tuxedos:
“I'm just really attracted to a very tailored, classic look that commands attention. The tuxedo, especially on women, does that, I think, because of the stark black and white. It's not a trendy thing. It's timeless. It's transcendent. The kind of thing you can give to your grandchildren.”
On if she ever breaks her black and white style routine:
“Do you ever just wear sweats? asked Glamour. Of course, yes. But they're still black and white!”
On what she thinks of her fans versions of “Tightrope” on YouTube:
“It makes me so proud that I have created something that somebody can wear in their own heart. That's what creating music is like for me. I want it to be part of your daily regimen. I want this song to be your drug.”
On seeing a schoolroom of kids singing one of her songs:
“I always think about the next generation and creating a different blueprint for them. That's my goal: to let them know there's another way. We don't all have to take the same coordinates to get to the same destination.”
What Janelle is Wearing
Photographed by Bruce Weber in Miami’s Wynwood Arts District, Janelle Monáe wears Louis Vuitton jacket and pants, D&G shirt, H. Stern gold and diamond earrings. For her second look, Monáe wears a Jason Wu shirt and Carole Tanenbaum Vintage Collection diamanté and emerald earrings. To get Janelle’s red lips, try L’Oréal Paris Lip Colour Riche Lipcolous in British Red ($9 at drugstores).

Looks like SJP has parted ways with Halston Heritage. She started with the company in January 2010 and was the chief creative officer. Nobody knows why excatly, however Harvey Weinstein is walking away from the company he purchased four years ago. This is probably the reason behind the parting of the ways.
I was sent both the Dr. Miracle's Restorative Treatment Pack and the Dr. Miracle's Conditioning Treatment Pack. I will be doing this review in two parts. I will tell you that these products are being used on natural hair and what works or does not work on my hair may have different results on the next person's hair. My review is just that, my own.
About The Product: Dr. Miracle's Conditioning Treatment Pack
It contains 3 unique scalp and hair therapy formulas. They are individually wrapped which allows you to customize your own hair regimen. This particular pack contains their most popular products. Each packet is 1.75 oz and the carton is priced at $4.19.
My Review:
This carton contained Deep Conditioning Treatment, Leave-In Treatment & Conditioner and Anti-Breakage Strengthening Creme
Overall:
I dont think I personally would purchase this product. Considering all the good things I have heard about the Dr. Miracle products, I was disappointed. But to each their own, and it may work for you.
**This product can be purchased at your local beauty supply store, Walmart and other national chains**

I love reviewing new products and when I was asked to review this product there was no way I could say no. The product that I am reviewing is the Intimia Breast Pillow. Here is what it looks like:
Ok, now the idea for this product is to prevent winkles and improve exsiting ones women may have in their cleavage area. It also helps with women who are breastfeeding or who may have had breast surgery and may have tender breast. It was designed by registered cosmetic nurse, Irene Komsky. After 20 years, she began to notice how self-conscience women were about the lines in their chest. The pillow sits between the breast and seperates the breast and the straps fit like a racerback bra.
My Review:
So the first thing you have to do is adjust the straps, normal. I had a really hard time getting this straps adjusted which almost discouraged me from putting it on. But I finally got it on. Now once you have it on (against your bare skin), your ready for a good nights sleep. I dont sleep on my side all night, but it does stay in place if you toss and turn.
Now, you can feel the pillow on you while you sleep, and depending on your own personal, it may or may not bother you. Me personally, I dont like to sleep in bras so this is something that I am not comfortable with. Along with the straps rubbing my neck. Overall, I dont know that I would spend $59.95 to purchase this product. Im sure for women who are breastfeeding or who have had surgery, this pillow will do wonders.
If you want to try the Intimia Breast Pillow, go to intimia.com.
As beautiful and emotional as weddings can be, everyone knows the star of the show is the bride and her wedding dress. Nothing will bring a tear to a M.O.B faster then seeing her daughter in that speacial dress.
