Glamour Covers

With a collective 14 movies coming out this year, Emma Stone, Ashley Greene and Freida Pinto are about to become the style world’s new obsessions. Matthias Vriens-McGrath photographed Emma in Los Angeles, Ashley in Baton Rouge, LA and Freida in Paris for Glamour’s May 2011 cover. The issue will be available digitally (iPad and Barnes & Noble Nook Color) and newsstands nationwide on April 5.

Fashion and Quotes

Emma Stone
Emma wears a D&G dress, Nina Basharova gold bangles with precious gems and Heike Grebenstein Fine Jewelry gold bangles on her cover. Inside the issue, Emma wears an eye-popping red Tory Burch cardigan, floral Erdem shorts, Heike Grebenstein Fine Jewelry bangles and Christian Louboutin shoes. She also wears a Viktor and Rolf dress, Flutter by Jill Golden bangles and Alexander Wang shoes. Additionally, she wears a white-hot Versace dress and Renee Lewis gold and diamond earrings. Emma also rocks it in a chic Helmut Lang jacket and shorts worn with a Janis by Janis Savitt antique silver crystal bracelet.

Emma Stone on the best advice her mother’s ever given her…
“She is the greatest person on earth. She always helps me deal with things as they happen instead of planning them all out ahead of time. But that’s one of 600 billion pieces of advice she’s given me. “

Emma Stone on what she looks for in a guy…
“Honestly, I cannot put a finger on it. One guy could do something that I would find deplorable, and [with] another guy I’d find it charming…. It depends on the person. The one thing that needs to be there is that indefinable spark of sorts. But I’m 22 years old…. I have no idea what I’m talking about. [Laughs.]

Emma Stone on the pressure to be thin in Hollywood…
“You’re a human being, you live once and life is wonderful, so eat the damn red velvet cupcake.”

Freida Pinto
Freida Pinto is featured on her cover wearing a bra top and shorts by Peter Som and Louis Vuitton Swarovski rhinestone and resin rings. Inside the issue, Freida is wearing a Tucker by Gaby Basora bustier and Lela Rose shorts. She is also seen in a Prabal Gurung dress along with a Chopard diamond and white gold bracelet. Additionally, she wears a camisole and pants by The Row and a House of Lavande diamante ring.

Freida Pinto on ethnicity in Hollywood…
“I think people are starting to become more color-blind in the industry. Of course, my Indian-ness cannot be ignored. At the same time, if I am being considered for a romantic comedy, I would like if [the script] didn’t try to inject as much ethnicity into the story as possible.”

Freida Pinto on filming in Tunisia when the uprising broke out….
“There was a civil war going on. People were burning down shops and malls; there was killing and bloodshed. I was stuck in this massive hotel with 354 rooms and only six guests. The lights kept shutting down, and there was a 5:00pm curfew. But I wasn’t there by myself: Dev [Patel, her Slumdog costar and current boyfriend] came down to see me. I was so glad I had company.”

Freida Pinto on relationships in Hollywood…
“When a doctor is performing an operation, his mind cannot be somewhere else. And it’s the same with actors. You have to commit yourself mind, body and soul to a project in order to do justice to it. And temptations are rife in this industry, which is why I think it’s important to know yourself before you try to deal with a relationship.”

Ashley Greene
On Ashley’s cover she wears a J.Crew cardigan and Nanette Lepore bikini top and bottom. Inside the issue, Ashley wears a floral D&G top with pink Louis Vuitton shorts. She also appears in a bright floral Marc by Marc Jacobs romper worn with a bracelet and rings by Louis Vuitton. Additionally, Ashley wears a flirty white Dolce & Gabbana dress with a James Colarusso silver necklace. She also dons a lace-up Haute Hippie dress, Dolce & Gabbana bra and Isabel Marant earrings and bracelets. Ashley plays it casual in a Ralph Lauren Collection blouse, tank, and shorts. This look is accessorized with a James Colarusso long gold necklace, Monique Péan rose gold and sapphire heart and Isabel Marant boots.

Ashley Greene on her career post-Twilight…
“It is difficult because people look at you as that character. I want to play a role of a 24-year-old woman, not 17-year-old girls. So I have picked a couple of films like Butter to show that. And it’s perfectly fine not to do anything for a year if I don’t find the right thing.”

Ashley Greene on how it all started at a modeling convention in New York…
“I’m a big believer in “everything happens for a reason.” I’m not saying it wasn’t hard. I lived off Lean Cuisine and had no furniture and shared a bedroom with a girl for a year. I ran up my credit card. But every time I thought, I’m going to fail, something happened that kept me here.”

Ashley Greene on how she avoids the pitfalls of the Hollywood party scene…
“I keep to the ground rules. I’m not going to get drunk at a bar. There are younger girls who look up to me. So I do my best not to stray too far.”

OPI: Femme de Cirque

It has been a busy week. Had a funeral on Sunday and I have been planning hubby's weekend bday bash. I am excited for the cake, I will post pics. But when I came home today from work, I see the UPS sticker on my door and I had hubby chase down the UPS truck, thank goodness he was on the other block. I got my Femme de Cirque collection from OPI. It was like Christmas morning, which it always is when I get a package in the mail.

The collection is four colors, really soft pinks. In The Spot Light is actually a glitter polish, you can use it as a top coat. Now that Jennifer Hudson song Spotlight is in my head.

My favorite is Step Right Up. This shade is so light and soft. I really love this one. Since there were only four shades, I applied a color to each nail and the glitter polish over one of the shades.

Each polish was applied with 2 coats. This collection was sent to me from the PR company for OPI.

This is actually In The Spot Light and I Juggle...Men.

I am using Step Right Up as a base and going over it in a messy way with Teenage Dream from the Katy Perry Collection. I will post pics tomorrow.

OPI Launches New Shatter Shades

OPI expands its Shatter line with the addition of three new trendsetting shades: Blue, Navy and Turquoise. With nautical hues of cobalt, indigo and sapphire, these blues provide the perfect look for summer nails in one simple step.  Inspired by graffiti art, Shatter leaves behind a crackled, two-texture finish when painted over any dry OPI hue. Adding top coat takes Shatter from matte to glossy in seconds.

Black Shatter was received with great fanfare, showing that women are looking for new ways to express themselves and are excited to try different textures on their nails,” says Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, OPI Executive VP & Artistic Director. “By adding a variety of colors to the line, there are more options for every woman, whether she is looking for a funky aquamarine or elegant deep blue. Unlike traditional nail art which can be complicated and difficult to replicate, Shatter is easy to use and allows everyone to experiment with this new trend.”

In addition to the original Black Shatter, the line also features the Shatter coat in White, Red and Silver. All Shatter retail displays now feature Quick Response (QR) code, a two-dimensional barcode readable by smart phones and mobile phones with cameras and Internet capability. A quick scan of the display’s QR code will directly link to a demonstrational video – making application foolproof.

Aaron Eckhart Opens Up To Women's Health

This 43 year old hunk and star of Battle: Los Angeles, which premieres on March 11th, tells us about love and what turns him on.

I’ve attached a JPEG of the April cover. If you have any questions you can e-mail me [Stephanie.Bleiberg@coburnww.com] or call me directly at 212.730.7045.

Please try to include a link back to WomensHealthMag.com.

His take on making up after a fight…

“You know, I’m not married, right? There’s a reason for that. I like to air it out. But after an argument, you have to stay in the moment. Do something together. Go on a road trip.”

On wanting a woman to be able to keep up with him…

“I love women who will play tennis with me, cycle with me, ski, snowboard, surf… any of it. A woman who takes care of herself turns me on.”

“I’m tough at first. In order to really get to know a woman, you have to pose questions that she’s not used to answering, that she has to contemplate, that really gets her thinking about who she is and what she wants in life.”

“I feel like couples should always reaffirm their love, as opposed to telling each other about their crushes. It creates animosity. Some opinions you might want to keep to yourself.”

“That there’s no better feeling.”

New Blogs To Announce!!!!

As you know, I have become a bit crazy about blogging. I think it is the best as far as voicing your opinions. It is also an awesome way for me to get back into my writing. Aside from Fashion 24/7 which is my main blog, I have launched two additional blogs:

Faces of Angels- this is a blog which re-tells the stories of children who have fallen victim to child abuse and/or neglect. It includes resources like different links you can visit, what to do if abuse/neglect is suspected etc. The blog also has a facebook fan page and a twitter page.

Beautifully Polished Up-this blog was born because of my love for nail polish. It is a simple brand new blog. The plan going forward with this blog, to showcase any new collection launches, my favorite brands and shades. As well as making it as user friendly as possible. There is a FAQ section, a new email addy in case brands want products tested. For fun, I have included a link to a spread that list my growing collection of polishes. I am very excited about this blog. This twitter that will be used for this blog is the same as for this one.

Along with my addtional two blogs, I invite you guys to check out my articles and leave comments if your moved too, on Chic Galleria.

I invite you all to come and check out my blogs and articles. I invite feedback, I can only get better with honest opinions. My blogs are only successful if they attract readers. I love the support from all you guys. Thank you so much. Stay up and stay fashionable!
